Over the weekend of October 4th and 5th, GDRA volunteers set up a tent at the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience in Eastwood MetroPark in Dayton. This annual event, in which we’ve participated for several years, introduces people to a variety of outdoor activities. The location is on the Mad River Trail, allowing visitors to bike or walk along Dayton’s extensive network of paved trails.

Our volunteers enjoyed this opportunity to serve as ambassadors for the sport of rowing in the Dayton community. Visitors were invited to try the rowing machines at our GDRA tent, as always. Ben Boehm, who organized the volunteers this year, reported that 528 people completed our 500m or 1-minute rowing challenge, which was an increase of almost 50% more than last year. It was a busy and fun weekend.
